You do crowdfunding? Here are 4 ideas on how to create UGC for your campaign.

Hi, I'm Mushegh. I'm a crowdfunding campaign manager, and I have helped a lot of creators to raise funds for their innovative products on Kickstarter and Indiegogo.

And I want to share several working examples and ideas on how creators and marketers can create UGC content in the crowdfunding stage where there is no fully functional product and no customer can use it.

UGC content is one of the most valuable, important, and underestimated content type in crowdfunding campaigns. But the creators don’t use the potential of UGC content. But I'll give you 4 ideas on what you can do (and how to do it) to get UGC content for your crowdfunding campaign.

ℹ️ UGC (User Generated Content) is any content—text, videos, images, reviews, etc.—created by product users/customers rather than brands.

🤔Why is it underestimated? Because it’s not e-commerce, and most creators don’t have final products ready to ship. Most of the time, the products are in the prototype stage, or the creator can’t afford to make several ones for UGC. These are limitations stopping a lot of creators on the way to UGC.

🤔Why is it important? Because the UGC content is made by a person like you and me. And people would mostly believe what a user/customer says about the product rather than the brand. And the positive one would increase your credibility and sales.

But for now, let’s focus on the video type of UGC content. Because this is the type that can’t be photoshopped or faked, and users would believe in the natively recorded video from a customer.

So, here are 4 ideas on how to get UGC.

When you have samples

1️⃣ Whan you have several samples ready to use, send 3-5 units to your potential customers, subscribers, or VIP members. Ask them to use, give feedback and create content for you.

2️⃣ Send 3-5 units to your potential customers, give them time to use and do a zoom call, record that call, and ask how they used it and what they think of your product. You can use that videos in your main video or separately on social media channels and advertising.

When you don't have samples

3️⃣ If you don't have samples to send, but you have at least one at home, then ask a relevant influencer to have a LIVE interview with you on social media. During the live stream, you answer the questions, talk about your product and its benefits, and do a short review of your product. Then you can edit that video and use it separately for different purposes.

4️⃣ You grab your smartphone, start recording and showing your product's functionality and features, tell them how it works, use it...do your own product review. After recording and you need to upload it on YouTube and optimize it by putting [your product name review] keywords.

People will always search [product name review] on youtube to see if there is someone that reviewed your product. And there would appear your video.

Please note that each time you decide to send a unit for the UGC content, you should get permission from the customers to use their content in your future promotions.

I hope you can use these tactics to promote your campaign and change people's lives.😉
