You don't become a millionaire by chasing money

"Money follows value", I feel this a lot. I remember back in 2020 I got into crypto and that drove me to learn more about money. I realized there were so many ways to lose money, and creating value (rather than seeking money) made much more sense.

When you have a skill, something you can provide that's valuable, you have the foundation for acquiring wealth. Not only that, but you have something to give back to society. Rather than just playing the market, or exploiting people, you can interact with money the way it was meant to be used (I presume). By exchanging goods and services.

I think that's spot on. Money is intended as a way to transfer value. If you provide a lot of value for people, that's de facto the best way to earn money.

One thing that's easy to miss is that part of what makes something valuable is its rarity. For example, if we were to evaluate water on its own merits, its value would be near-infinite, because need it to live. But because water is so abundant, that drives down its value/price.

So profiting from creating value really comes down to creating rare value.
