Are you also one of those who believe in the myth that you must be very specific about your value proposition in your main section of the website?
I was also among those people until I tried to put the few websites without a value proposition in public.
And here are a few things I learned:
Attention is more important than a value proposition!
Care to explain a bit more? What do you mean that attention is more important than a value proposition?
Sure!
If I help SAAS founders increase their website conversion rate, my value proposition on the homepage will look like this "We help B2C SAAS founders get more conversion".
But, this pitch is very generic because many people are doing the same thing. Also, it might not work in other places, like when you are telling someone what you do at a party.
So rather than telling you what you do, I would prefer to say, "Why do some websites get 50 sales and some get zero when there are 1500 visitors on your website."
Did you see the difference? Rather than telling the tedious value proposition, I am grabbing the prospect's attention?
