i think you need both. life isn't binary. so, i've stopped trying to analyze life like that.

This is a good take. I think both discipline and motivation are required, plus a bunch of other attributes...

Honestly I just stop thinking about all I need and just ship. I'll never be perfect, so why worry about it. There's always time to improve, but actionables > worries like this.

I find feelings of demotivation as a product of ambition and goal setting tbh. If you "just work" and "just solve" your problems not for the sake of working or solving and not as a goal in themselves you don't need motivation or ambition.

In this case, the problem might be the desire to be more productive.

Also, feelings of laziness fall under the same umbrella.

    I'm pretty productive overall.

Great post @Luisperwira. Though I sort of disagree with the premise. Greater the motivation, easier it is to be disciplined. And I am saying that as one of THE MOST iindisciplined people on the planet. I cannot follow a simple routine.

But there are weeks, sometimes months, when I am so driven that my routine is cast in stone.

Just finished my first book and launched on ProductHunt (https://www.producthunt.com/posts/buddha-to-bezos) - it was mostly all motivation leading to disciline. Don't know if that makes sense. What do you think?

This is something that every blogger needs to understand. I myself needed to implement deadlines which have significantly increased my production as a blogger.

Another important aspect to consider is your level of interest and expertise on the subject matter. Expertise doesn't necessarily equate to happiness, but when you're passionate about something, it makes it much easier to include a certain level of discipline.

Very good post! Thanks for sharing!
