You test mine, I test yours — product builder swap?

Testing products early is critical — we all know it, but too many of us skip it.

I’m a product builder with 10+ years of experience and currently looking for 50 early testers for my new tool.

If you're building something right now that I can test too, let's swap:
You test mine. I test yours.

Brutal honesty welcomed. No fluff, no fake feedback. Just signal.

DM or drop your link below if you're in.

(And yes, ChatGPT helped me proofread this — but the story and voice are mine.)

Ohhhhhh I love this idea! Okay I am bookmarking to come back to this in the morning, already 3AM! 😴

    1. 1

Awesome! Excited to see what you are building and swap feedbacks!

  2. 2

Hello, Sounds like a good deal. My product is mileston.co

    1. 1

Hey! Excellent, I'll check it out later today and give you my feedback!

      1. 1

Hey! I just reviewed mileston.co and here is my honest and direct feedback:

        • I'm not sure if the name is the correct one for your product. When I read Mileston I thought about milestones.. and even though you could argue that you will hit milestones by receiving payments, in my mind It would be a tool for tracking/reaching milestones.
        • The moment I opened your website, I had a feeling about it being too tech-ish, like if it is for developers. Considering what you are offering, I think it would be better to make it seem more friendly, approachable, "for anyone".
        • Obviously your low fees are a huge selling point vs what is out there.. but the immediate thought in my mind is "why so much lower? where is it lacking?"
        • When building a payment gateway, I feel that one of the most important things is to 'accept' payment from pretty much any source without hassle. How are you achieving this? I prefer to pay PayPal its fee if my customer won't have any problems in their transaction.
        • That leads me to the following point. You don't mention anything about the admin dashboard/platform. You talk about analytics but where can I address any problems my clients are having? How do I refund if needed? Can I do a partial refund? At least in my experience, these features make the difference when something doesn't go as expected. And it happens more often than you'd like hehe.
        • Lastly, I open your documentation page (docs.mileston.co) and it feels like a completely different page. I think that sharing style between your sites is important to make it feel like you are in the same 'workspace'.

I'd love it if you could run your Mileston idea through www.signalboard.dev (the tool I am building). What risks does it show? It will probably give you better feedback than mine hehe.

Anyway, that's my feedback. Hope it gives you some food for thought!

  4. 2

Hi, I'm currently in the stage of validating an idea. I just used your product on my own idea actually and I thought it was pretty insightful.

    Some reccomendations:

    • I would redesign the UI of your questionnaire to be more clickable. (there's a lot of typing going on, but some of the questions asked could definitely be responded with a dropdown of possible answers)

    • The questions asked were good, especially for someone starting out their journey for the first time.

    Good feedback:

    • Landing page conveys a deep emotional message.
    • The use of the graph was a strong way to get people interested.

I hope some of this helps!

If you wouldn't mind giving me some feedback as well, I would greatly appreciate it! I'm building BizCoach-AI, a solution that helps indie devs and freelancers land their first paying client. I only have the landing page for the idea right now, as I'm trying to get validation. But would love to discuss further details and exchange feedback on ideas if you're up for it!

    1. 1

Hi Altonio, thank you for reaching out and testing SignalBoard!

I am already working on a big redesign on my questionnaire thanks to all the great feedback I am getting!

I'll definitely give BizCoach-AI a try later today if you can send me a way to access/view your landing page. Definitely open to discuss further details, you let me know how you want to do it and I'm game!

      1. 2

        Hey Sherwell!

Glad some of the feedback helped.
Here's the landing page for my idea. Any honest feedback would be greatly appreciated:

        https://www.bizcoach-ai.com/

Here is my feedback from checking out your homepage!

The hero section confuses me a bit. "Monetize Your Skills" tells me I will sell myself as a service, like for freelancers. However, then it says "Get your first paying client.. from idea to income" The part of "from idea to income" now makes me think you mean getting my first client for my product. But I would argue that doesn't pair well with Monetize your Skills. Might be small details but that first section is the most important one to nail the message, I think.

When I get to the second part I understand. But i still see area of improvement in the first section. The messaging is different for someone that wants to monetize ASAP vs someone that wants to build a side business or a new product.

The rest of the sections are pretty clear, I actually like your idea. I think it will attract many viewers that are still not so familiar with GPTs.

I think what you show right now in the homepage is the showy part, and that's great, but in order to really have clients for the long run, I think your challenge is in the "guiding" part. Are you building a task manager or integrating to one? are you following up on the proposed actionables / timeline to make sure the user stays on track?

I hope this feedback makes sense!

          1. 2

Sherwell this is amazing and sharp feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to check it out. I'm currently applying changes to the landing page with your feedback right now. If you wouldn't mind, could I come back in a week to show you some of the progress I've made?

            1. 1

Definitely! I'm also applying many changes due to feedback, so let's swap feedbacks again in a few days!

  5. 2

Love this idea, I’m in for a few test cases and honestly feedback. I’m building ACEGI dot io which helps you stay reachable—without drowning in noise.
It’s a link-in-bio profile where you can get paid for serious DMs. Influencers can connect with collaborators and brands. Thought leaders can answer real questions from followers after a talk. And everyday pros? Use it to stay open to recruiters, clients, or old colleagues—minus the spam.

    1. 1

Sounds interesting, got to test it out so I can really understand it.

I'll definitely give it a try tomorrow and come back to you.

Feel free to test mine using ACEGI or any other idea you have, you will get an idea of what I'm building pretty fast. www.signalboard.dev

      1. 2

I listed ACEGI on signalboard this morning. The process was smooth, questions made sense and felt thought through. One minor thing, the email confirmation message...the "Confirm Email Address" button was blue on blue, almost un readable.

        1. 1

          Thank you for your feedback!

How did you feel signalboard's risks/feedback for ACEGI? Any valuable insights?

Will be testing ACEGI today, i'll get back to you after that!

          1. 2

Another UI recommendation, to view the "Risks Assigned", you need to use the kebob menu to get the "View" options...I would make the product name a link to the view page. Or add an actual "view" button. You're sub-menu only has two options view/delete, I clicked the product name and the "Risks Assigned" pill before realizing I had to open the menu. A direct link or button would feel more intuitive.

As for the results, the three risks it gave were things I have also flagged as concerns. So, I look at that as a success with your application. It's not clear what to do next, if anything. Each risk is asking for a Priority and Justification, but it's unclear what setting those will do.

            1. 1

I appreciate every piece of feedback, thank you!

              • Will definitely improve those buttons on the Project index view.
              • I am working on a pretty big "remake" to the whole process so that it follows a storyline. For now, in case you want to move forward, you should assign a Priority level for each of the risks and a justification for how you will manage it. So basically, how critical is it to mitigate that risk at this stage and then in the justification what you are doing to mitigate it. Make sense?
This will give you another round of feedback as to whether or not your justifications and risk understanding are solid.
              1. 1

Hey bclemenzi, I've checkout out ACEGI.

You asked for honest feedback, so here it is.

The homepage looks really clean, professional, well made. Congrats on that.

My thing is with the idea itself, and it might just be me, but I don't think I am a potential user. I can definitely see myself answering emails with a bot or filtering the 'noise' automatically.. but I feel far from charging people to contact me. Again, this might be because I don't have a big following or many people looking to contact me. But I feel that the message of charging for first contacts could be taken the wrong way. Does that make sense?

I'm curious if other people think the same way and if SignalBoard addressed this risk. Maybe I am too old school hehe.

    Hi The AIwakening,

Sounds like a great deal , I’m in!
I’m building KubeSimplify, a tool to help indie hackers, freelancers, and small startups deploy their apps to the cloud in just a few minutes, without getting lost in Kubernetes or DevOps complexity.

Right now, the backend isn’t live yet — I’m focusing on the frontend and would love your feedback on:
    • Is the UI/UX clear enough for someone non-expert to deploy an app?
    • Does this solve a real problem you’ve faced or seen around you?

So far, I’ve added templates for:
    • Static websites
    • MERN stack apps
    • REST APIs
    • Databases

Would you find other templates useful ? What would make this more helpful for your use case ?

    What pain does it solve?

Today, deploying to Kubernetes usually takes hours, days and months — configs, CI/CD, monitoring, security…

    With KubeSimplify:
→ From code to production in ~5 minutes, with:
    • Auto CI/CD from Git
    • Built-in monitoring/logs
    • App vulnerability scans

I made a short demo video on Loom happy to DM it to you if you’re curious or open to giving feedback!

I’d really appreciate your thoughts — and if you’re interested, I’d love to have you as a beta tester when the first version goes live.

Also, what are you building right now? I’d be happy to test your product in return — let’s swap feedbacks!

    1. 1

Awesome KubeByWalid, thank you for reaching out!

Let's definitely swap feedbacks, where can i checkout your frontend? Or if you'd like me to start with your loom video, definitely DM it to me.
And definitely add me as a beta tester for when it's ready!

For my part, checkout www.signalboard.dev, It's a tool that analyzes your startup idea, surfaces key risks, and gives you investor-style feedback — before you waste time and money! I don't want to give more details because I'd also like to see if the homepage is clear!

      1. 2

        Hi @Sherwell,

I’ve used your platform and really appreciated it. I quickly understood the purpose of your tool, and I tested it with my own project, KubeSimplify. It helped highlight some of the risks in my platform — that was really insightful.

If I may suggest an improvement: the design could benefit from a slightly more modern look.

Also, I feel like your platform does a great job pointing out the risks that might prevent a project from succeeding, but it doesn’t offer any suggestions or guidance on how to address those risks.

I'm going to DM you on your instagram for sharing the link of my project.

        1. 1

Walid, Thank you for your feedback! will definitely be applying it to SignalBoard.

Definitely, send me a DM so I can check it out!

          1. 2

Yes I've DM you on Instagram

  7. 2

    DM'ed on instagram, let's swap!

  8. 2

I want to change tests with you, i'll send you a dm on insta.

    1. 1

      Excellent, happy to!

I’m in — just launched PathPilot, an AI-powered goal-setting coach that turns vague goals into daily tasks via chat.

Would love brutal feedback. Here's the Android Appname -> AI Coach - PathPilot
    Happy to test yours too!

    1. 1

Hey PathPilot! Is it only for Android? I only have iPhone :(
Do you have a landing page I can look at?
Feel free to see what SignalBoard tells you about your idea! It might give you the brutal feedback you are looking for.

    Hey The AIwakening (cool handle!),

I'm definitely in for a product builder swap! super smart way to get honest feedback.
I'm currently working on a research project aimed at helping bootstrapped founders overcome talent and capacity challenges. basically, figuring out how we all get that critical work done when resources are tight. I've got a super quick (less than 3-min) anonymous survey for founders to gather insights for it.

I'd love to test your tool and give you some brutal honesty :) Where can I find the link to your product for testing? You can find the survey link for my research directly on my Indie Hackers profile when you're ready to swap.
Thanks for putting this out there!

    1. 1

      Hey IndieLina!
I believe getting direct honest feedback early on is one of the best things you can do!

It's late for me right now but tomorrow I will definitely check your profile and test your product!

You can check mine out at www.signalboard.dev

      1. 2

        Hey The AIwakening!

        Here’s the feedback I promised

The product has a clean design with a clear value prop, simple nav and nice visuals. It’s a cool concept that could definitely help founders spot early warning signs.

A couple quick things I noticed:

        • Had a hiccup confirming my email — might be an SSL cert issue.
        • The homepage looks the same whether I’m signed in or out — might be worth distinguishing. I think a differentiated view for logged-in users could enhance the user experience.
        • It would help to add more details on how the product actually works. Maybe overtime, a blog or resources section to build more trust and engagement.
        • And (just an idea) a feature to track changes over time as users refine their strategy could be a great value-add.
Other than that, looks great — excited to see where you take it!

Here’s the quick survey link when you get a moment (takes less than 3 mins):

Would love to include your insights. Thanks again 🙏

        1. 1

          Awesome feedback @IndieLina, thanks!
Will definitely take all of your comments into consideration and apply them asap.
My turn to checkout yours, will be getting in touch soon!

          1. 1

Survey sent! Interested to see what you might be building after getting some answers!
