Would you use https://SignupCarrot.com over other known email list popup providers?
This is our first iteration of the site so please rip it apart!
It is indeed a nice @alexroan
But do you really consider a pop-up plugin as a growth tool?
Given that many alternatives out there i.e. Sitekit, Sumo, Hellobar etc. What's your game plan to stand out? Happy to exchange ideas.
Interesting you say that. From the landing page, do you see anything that stands out as different from those brands?
If not, it's definitely not good enough yet!
Excited to hear your standard @alexroan :)
Good idea.
I think you need to work on typography.
Yeah I agree, I think there's some work to be done to make it look more sleek in general and improve the message it sends
Interesting. So I'd like to see a picture of the free gift on your home page. Can you attach here?
Also, if you don't use Mailchimp, you can still integrate/use with other providers with simple code? Correct?
How much do you charge the subscriber to send to someone in the USA? Do they have the option to just subscribe without ordering the gift (which costs shipping/handling)?
Hey Patrice,
Good idea, would definitely be worth putting the product on the homepage!
We have a Carrot already live on https://dustandthings.com so you should see it popup with an image of the product there.
Currently we only support integration with mailchimp with plans to expand to other providers once we validate the idea with a few partners. Would you recommend some others?
Currently the international shipping price is £3.35 (GBP) for the keyring. The product itself retails at £6.95 here: https://dustandthings.com/products/engraved-name-keyring
Subscribers do not have to purchase the keyring once subscribed, no.
Thanks for responding :)
Thanks for the quick reply. Are the keyrings engraved like in the image? If so, you take the name from the email subscribe form?
Yeah they are laser engraved.
On every subscribe form there are inputs for the name the customer wants on the keyring, their email, and then any subsequent required merge fields from mailchimp that are required for subscribing. That form is created automatically when you register and create a Carrot (what we're calling each popup).
Hope that answers your question :)
Cool idea.
Interesting idea (I'm new to email list popup providers). I like the logos section with Mailchimp. I'm not sure what "+ p&p" stands for, and I was a bit confused it says free on the top page, but the price points start at 12 pounds.
Hey Masatoshi,
Thanks for replying!
I see how the page can be misleading, I'll make sure to work on that.
Having a "Carrot" on your site to increase your subscriber numbers will cost £12 per month. The product that the subscriber receives for subscribing receives it for free, whilst paying Postage and Packaging (P&P).
What do you think would be a better way of explaining that?
Thanks again :)
I see. I think the message is conflicted between your customers (web owners) and subscribers (customers' customers). I think you can forget about subscribers on the top, and focus on the message such as better branding, engagements, etc.
Also, I would work on finding a good photo (Unsplash?) that includes real humans as your hero header, as your strength seems to be that personal real connection through a gift. I think that makes your product much more differentiated and attractive. The popup UI now makes it look like another simple subscription widget.
I think there's a bit of leap in the description. It makes it sound like new subscribers are simply asked to pay when subscribing. Maybe emphasize more about seeing the great gifts or an option to receive an early product?
"Subscriber enters their email address and is subscribed to your email list. => Subscriber pays small postage and package charge." If the focus is getting more email subscribers, maybe focus more about the getting-the-gifts part before entering the emails? I imagine lots of beautiful pictures of free gifts show up. In general, I don't think you need to focus on the payment detail.
Your business model is interesting. The primary model is to generate more leads for email subscriptions. Maybe how it works should talk more of increasing subscribers and grow your business.
Lastly, it might be a technical or industry term, but I don't understand the meaning of keyring (I googled).
Would I use this?
I don't have a physical offering or collect emails at this moment. So please take my advice with a grain of salt. But it is an interesting idea. I think it has great potential:)
When you have time, please comment on my landing page as well:)

Fantastic feedback, thanks so much!! I'm definitely going to take some time to work through your points, very helpful :)
I'll take a look at your landing page ASAP!
Yap! Feel free to follow up with me for further feedback. It is an interesting business:)
I've completely revamped it :D Have another look and let me know what you think: https://signupcarrot.com
Nice! You focuses on the conversion. It's much better:)
A quick thought seeing it from the mobile.
I still think this section
"We send your subscribers a free personalised gift when they subscribe to YOUR email list" deserves its own section as that stands out the most. Ideally in the future, you can get testimonials about how the email subscription rate went up (first 3 of your value props about increase in engagement). But it's much better now with colorful icons:)
