Everyone who've released an app to the iOS AppStore knows: the App-Review is picky. Sometimes even useful, but most of the time it just felt annoying.
And today it was just funny! Because it was just stupid. For both sides. 😂
I developed a conference app that's in the stores right now. Nothing really special, straight forward an app for attendees of events inside our organization. And of course we have a demo conference with demo content for testing and the app review purposes.
Todays update got rejected. The Reason:
Guideline 2.1 - Performance - App Completeness
Your app or its metadata does not appear to include final content. Specifically, your app Agenda, and Speaker list include placeholder content.
Guideline 5.2.1 - Legal - Intellectual Property
Your app includes content that resembles Disney/Pixar material, Toy story, without the necessary authorization.
And I guess they are right: We have frickin' Buzz Lightyear as Speaker.

tl,dr: Don't use placeholder content in your apps. Especially don't use content you don't own. Basically common sense. 🤷♂️
Soo.. I'm curious: What's your best rejection story?
Also: Today in the 2nd rejection, 'cuz the "Demo"-Event contains placeholder content. Now I have to argue with the AppStore and explain them the whole purpose of a demo event. 🤦
