Your feedback on Giverrang: Cash-Trade Marketplace landing page / MVP

Hi all, what a wonderful community here! Excited to take part, support others, and rise the tide for all ships.

I recently launched Giverrang (https://giverrang.com) and would appreciate your feedback. I'll leave it at that so you can go in unadulterated, and happy to converse upon your return.

    Congrats on the launch!

It's an interesting idea, but I had to read a lot to really figure out what it was. I think it's a difficult product to build a single landing page for, because

    • it's a brand new kind of transaction
    • it's a two-sided marketplace

You might want to consider (1) building out two landing pages, one for consumers and one for merchants, and (2) creating a dirt simple diagram above the fold, which goes through the steps of a sample transaction. Otherwise I worry that people will take one look at "A New Kind of Discount Marketplace" and be like "I don't know what this is, bye!"

    Anyway, good luck!

Hi @tjcx, thank you so much for the wonderful feedback.

I think you outlined and confirmed some of my subconscious struggles, while also laying out some great suggestions.

It's been super difficult due to the factors you mentioned to make things concise and to communicate the product with a snap of the finger. I'm usually halfway decent at communicating (maybe better at other people's stuff), but this has been a challenge. I think that I may be trying to do too much in finding the perfect way to condense the concept and benefits and losing both audiences in the process, instead of just literally spelling things out in a linear way for both targets.

I laughed at your comment on the "A New Kind of Discount Marketplace, bye". I was hoping that title would add to the intrigue, but I can see that it also can also seem like work, or some sort of challenge to get to know something new that they might not want to waste time on.

You mention you had to spend a lot of time reading through to get what was happening. Can you share what the moment of clarity was. Perhaps something I can feature more?

I think it clicked for me when I read your examples page. If I understand correctly, you're using "points" as a way of extending credit. Sellers give buyers credit when they accept points, and they're repaid when they buy something else with those points.
