The manual workaround problem is real, but the root cause is usually missing structure rather than missing automation.
Before automating, most solopreneurs need a clear ops layer: which clients are active, which projects are in flight, what decisions have already been made and why. Without that, you automate chaos - fast.
The pattern I've seen: founders reach for Zapier before they've built the Notion/linear system that would tell Zapier what to actually do. Structure first, automation second. The founders who skip step one end up with elaborate automations that still require manual workarounds to make sense of.
