Your morning routine is a waste of time

Thats not what my dentist says
Morning routine is not waste of time, but copying other morning routine is waste of time. Morning routine should be unique for each person. If you have kids to be taken care of, you can meditate peacefully or simply go to gym.
But the concept of morning routine remain the same. Do whatever you need to do so that you day become better and productive.
Its mainly for building momentum for the entire day.
Some people morning routine is take extra sleep. They know better about themselves and what work and not.
If you need people to give you step by step guide for morning routine then you need to check back on how much you understand yourself and what you want to do.
But understanding the objective of morning routine is very important for that I would recommend reading this Understanding the Significance of Morning Routines and Common Misconceptions
Thank you Mark
I don't think you read my essay.
All of these routines that people suggest are ultimately about "flow hacking" - how do you get yourself into a flow state, consistently, on demand? Personally, I don't find routines to be very helpful. Plus very few morning routines survive contact with small children, so they don't work that well for parents like me. :)
What is helpful to me, consistently, is putting my work into a broken state whenever I put it down the night before. If I'm coding, literally break something so it stops compiling. If I'm writing content, create a simple and obvious formatting issue (like setting a whole paragraph to be in H1 format).
As soon as I open my computer the next day, I know what my first task is, I know that I can accomplish it, and when I'm done my mind is magically focused on my work.
YMMV, but this is the best thing I've ever done to get myself into a flow state every morning.
Totally agree! Thanks so much for the reply.
Depends on what you do
