ONE-LINE DESCRIPTION
Build your support network on technology forums like IH, HN, Reddit, ...
PROBLEM
It is hard to get your posts noticed. 99% of them die unanswered in “New”. It is also difficult to create a stable audience or support network using these forums.
SOLUTION
A website that helps you build connections to people on technology forums.
If you already interacted with a person on any topic, you will get notified about person’s posts and encouraged to participate.
As your “connection capital” builds, you can ask to respond to your posts and help with questions you have.
ANSWER ONLY TWO QUESTIONS PLEASE
Where is this PROBLEM for you on Hurts-Tolerable-Meh scale?
Would you pay $5 a month to solve it?
Thank you!!
Meh for me because I don’t have this problem. The main way I often solve it is by lurking on a subreddit and understanding it’s culture, what they like and what they ignore etc, before posting.
I would do a some serious research around the existing Instagram group, and HN voting rings.
These already exist informally. A lot of sites try to detect and reduce the impact of these types of votes.
It is discouraging to see posts go unanswered. At this point you should not even try sites like Hacker News. This might work if implementation is good.
I disagree that you should not even try. I have had multiple posts go to the front page. It is almost random which get picked up, so just keep trying.
Assuming solution like that actually worked, would you pay to use it?
