I built CaptainShot because I kept taking screenshots to remember useful things — receipts, travel details, products, ideas, conversations, and notes — only to lose them among thousands of images in my Photos library.
Screenshots are easy to capture, but surprisingly difficult to organize, search, and use later. CaptainShot exists to turn them into a private, searchable, and actionable library across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
With on-device OCR, visual search, SmartData extraction, automatic collections, reminders, summaries, and local AI, CaptainShot helps you find what you saved and turn useful information into actions — without uploading your screenshots to our servers.
One year after the first release, V3 is a major step forward, with continuous analysis, support for imported images, smarter search, dynamic selections, Quick Review, collection sharing, Photos synchronization, and a much more complete native experience across the Apple ecosystem.
The original goal has not changed: make everything you capture useful again, without compromising your privacy.
