YouTube video chapters (timestamp) now show on the google search

Yeah, it was only a matter of time that google showed the YouTube timestamp/video chapters on the search. If I search "youtube video timestamp" on google & then it shows me the suggestions and for the videos, those who have timestamps are ranked higher with an expanded list.

This is great, if you are working on content marketing and have videos as one of the main distribution channels then you gotta have these video chapters as timestamps for all your videos.

If you properly see the video chapters then the major results that pop up in the search google results have there timestamp as an intent of what user might search for and not just some random timestamp.

In the above image you can see the 3 timestamps 1. an intro to video chapters 2. how to set up video chapters, you see the pattern emerging just like the blogs. You can check on more search queries and you will find the same thing.

This is the best time you gotta add those video chapters to new and also the old videos on youtube but thinking more from the google search, keyword and search intent from the end-users perspective and this will boost up your results and ranking.

Overall Google is treating video chapters just like the blogs with anchors to different sections thus youtube videos are the new blogs but video format (means they already were) but now with video chapters, google understands those video better and their context.

Chapters have been one of my favorite additions to YT. Such an easier way to navigate long videos.
