zoto.app vs zotoapp.com. Which one is preferable for a domain name? It is web app only product.

If your audience is tech people, zoto.app could work.

If you are building for the general population zotoapp.com is 100x better. I used to work for a pretty well known web company that used an odd TLD, people really struggle to remember non-.com domains because it doesn't fit what a domain 'should be'.

I'd bet if you survey 100 normal people to tell you a random domain name you'd get 99 .com domains and an email address.

(full disclosure, I'm building on a .io domain, targeting a techie audience)

Personally I would go with zoto.app. Short and sweet.

First congratulations to you for this new app name: Zoto. Personally I would recommend to choose Zotoapp.com as domain because it sounds crazy and people love crazy things.

both my business has been niche-focused SaaS and I have had no problems building a brand, SEO, etc. using a TLD.

.app should be fine

But buy them both if you can afford it :)

I've had good luck with acme.com or acmeapp.com for the marketing website, then acme.app for the actual app.

They are normally different technologies, git repos, etc., so separating the domains in helpful.

You do need a little config for analytics to teach the whole journey across domains, but that's pretty straightforward these days.

With no special reasons, I would go zotoapp.com

Even if zotoapp.com is unavailable, and only zoto.app is up for sale.

I would still buy something like; usezoto.com getzoto.com etc.

Don't ask me why please :)
