Video-based B2B event matchmaking

I keep working on all parts of the product at the same time, which shows by the number of "in progress" tickets on my Trello board; and that's just the work that I've noted down.

But I reached one important milestone today! A video uploaded from the 20 Seconds mobile app by an attendee who was previously invited to take part in matchmaking for an event now goes through the full processing cycle. Recording, background uploading, storage, transcription, poster image extraction and manual review are all working and eventually the video appears on the other attendee's video wall and can be watched. Now I've got lots of UI stuff to deal with, like the "blank slate" if no videos exist yet. Pareto at its best.

I also worked out one important bit for my go to market strategy. I always wanted to have a free tier to let users play around with the system, like, free for the first 100 attendees. Recently it occurred to me that that's about the size of a larger meetup and meetups would be a great occasion to get the product out and test the waters, wouldn't they? I am going to use something like "free for meetups" on the pricing page.

There's one issue becoming more and more evident, and I won't be able to solve it on my own. I would love to have a demonstration event with pre-created content, including attendee videos, because that makes explaining the whole product so much easier. So I will need 20-30 different dressed up American- or British-English-speaking actors to record 20 second video pitches for an imaginary trade fair, ideally on a Indie Hacker budget.

What would be a good place to find such people?

March 24, 2020 Publicly announced 20 Seconds

For the past few weeks, I've blogged about my intent to generate recurring revenue from a side project, but I didn't mention what exactly the project was. Tonight, I finally braced up all my courage and made the public announcement. https://roadtomrr.com/2020/03/24/introducing-20-seconds/

December 21, 2019 Started a blog

I've had an idea for a product in my head for years already, and over the last few months it became increasingly clear to me that I had to start working on it; and this time, I wanted to do it publicly.

With some free time on my hands during Christmas vacation, I started a blog to document my road to monthly recurring revenue: https://roadtomrr.com/
