3moves.club
workout at home app to stay fit wherever + video instruction
The app used to cost 6 euros (about 5 dollars) but without excessive marketing, people do not pay for apps anymore these days. So I decided to make the app itself free to use. I've created a Teespring merch store (shirts, hoodies, tanktops) and a printable PDF workout tracker to sell.
Spending almost every night creating workouts and looking up the best exercise video's on Youtbe to fill up the Google sheets, was the most intense phase of the project. The app contains 100 workouts and 60 exercise video's. I used Glide to develop and sketched out the apps tabs.
Luckily I have some experience designing websites and landing pages, so I quickly launched a little one-page website including a call to action

I made a list of the essentials my app needed:
Short workouts
A minimal amount of exercises per workout
An in-app video library so users don't waste time going back and forth on Youtube to look up exercises
Accessibility for different fitness levels
I also set a rule for each workout to contain 3 moves (3 different exercises) only. I came up with the name 3moves.club and bought the domain. This whole process took me about 3 weeks.

A website called Darebee.com created easy-to-follow programs and challenges. I did the 'Heroes Journey' and the 'Spartan' program. These programs were great, but I needed more flexibility: shorter workouts, less different exercises. On top of that, I lost a good amount of time looking up how to do a certain exercise.
