The idea for Aarogyam.ai emerged from a blend of my interest in technology, wellness, and a growing recognition of the limitations in current health monitoring solutions like smartwatches. I noticed that while wearables such as smartwatches and fitness trackers have gained immense popularity, they come with significant limitations that prevent them from being as impactful as they could be in improving overall health management.
One of the key issues is that these devices require constant physical contact to provide health data. For accurate readings, users must wear them continuously, which is not always convenient or comfortable, especially for those who are not inclined to wear devices on their wrists 24/7. Another problem is that while smartwatches do track basic metrics like heart rate, steps, and sometimes blood oxygen levels, the insights they offer are often surface-level and don’t fully empower users to manage their overall well-being in a holistic way. Most smartwatches also lack actionable recommendations to guide users in making meaningful changes to their health.
Given this context, I started thinking about how emerging technologies like AI and non-contact health measurement systems could solve these problems. This led me to explore Reflective Photoplethysmography (rPPG), a cutting-edge technology that allows health metrics to be measured through facial scans without the need for wearable sensors. The idea clicked: by combining this non-contact technology with AI, we could create a platform that provides in-depth health insights and personalized wellness recommendations without requiring users to wear a device.
I saw an opportunity to develop something that would go beyond what current health trackers offer—an app that not only tracks vital signs like blood pressure, heart rate, and SpO2 but also integrates stress levels and other health markers to provide a holistic view of wellness. By offering personalized suggestions on yoga, diet, sleep, and stress management, Aarogyam.ai would fill the gap left by traditional wearables and give users more control over their health in a non-intrusive, convenient way.
Aarogyam.ai was born out of this realization: the need for a health solution that’s accessible to everyone, easy to use, and capable of providing both real-time health monitoring and long-term wellness guidance. Through the use of AI and advanced technologies, it aims to offer a more comprehensive approach to health management that current wearables simply don’t provide.
