AavanamKit

The open-source design system that stops you from coding doc

Hey everyone,

I'm Jafran, and I've just launched a new open-source project to solve a workflow that has always frustrated me as a developer.

You know the process: you need to generate a PDF, so you start writing code like doc.text('Total:', 400, 750). You re-run the script, check the output, see it's a few pixels off, and then go back to guess at new coordinates. It's a slow, painful cycle of trial and error.

I wanted a tool that would let me design documents visually first, and then use that design as my code.

So, I built AavanamKit.

It's a visual design studio that you can run locally. You drag and drop elements, connect them to your data schema, and see exactly how the layout will look. When you're done, you export a clean JSON object.

That JSON is your template. You can then use the headless @aavanamkit/engine in your Node.js backend to feed it live data and generate high-quality, native vector PDFs and DOCX files.

It's designed to make your life as a developer easier and faster.

And the bonus? If you want to go the extra mile, you can then embed that same designer component into your application's admin panel to let your clients handle future changes themselves.

I'd be incredibly grateful for any feedback from this community of builders.

I built AavanamKit to fix my own broken workflow. I was tired of the endless, unprofitable cycle of tweaking hardcoded PDF invoices for clients. Every "quick change" was a new development ticket that pulled me away from
