Abducted
An experimental webcomic + OSS publishing framework
Written, drawn, inks, colored, lettered over the span of 90 days with three creatives who have day jobs already. There was an eimmense amount of work went into this new chapter and I'm thrilled with how the OGN is turning out.
25% bump in unique Day-1 readership, but that's been because we've really doubled down on Instagram as the platform of choice. Our followers have grown from 100 in May to 700 in May/June. I'm honestly not sure how effective the insta following is, we're looking at more traditional distribution models (like printing some ashcans out and shipping them to comic shops to give away for free).
We saw a 45% jump in readership (120 unique readers vs 88), with our Insta following go from ~20 at launch (Issue 1) to 110+ for issue 2. We're experimenting with some Facebook advertising to build a base (around 100 or so follows) which pays off. About 50% of our traffic come from FB, 50% come from Insta.

Over 30 pages of story and a 45 minute "soundtrack" launched Abducted in February, 2019. We had been writing and drawing the comic since mid-2018, experimenting with Instagram and Facebook advertising to try and build a following earlier with mixed results. Still, the overall results were encouraging! 80+ people read the comic, not a bad number to start building a readership on top of.

We’re here to experiment with the sequential medium without without forcing it into the conventions of other mediums, and then Open Source-ing the results. http://instagram.com/abductedthecomic/
