Academy Of Mine
B2B LMS Platform for Professional Training & Certifications
It is time to find a Head of Digital Marketing who can come in and really help us get to the next level. I have worked with agencies and freelancers over the years and even though they have been helpful in getting us here, it is time to invest in someone in house who is committed to the company.
We still have a long way to go but we are making good progress on Content Marketing so far. Some low hanging fruits have been taken care of and now looking at a few more complex and challenging items to sort this out.
Currently, we are primarily focussed on Blog Posts but for 2021, I have the following items in mind to really supercharge our content strategy:
-
Webinars with other eLearning Professionals including instructional designers/developers/, Industry Consultants and even our existing customers
-
Podcasts
-
Customer Interviews (ideally video based)

Hey Yash, are you guys in need of a content or copywriter?
I've got some good ideas I'd love to share with you.

We neglected our inbound and content marketing for a while which started affecting our lead quality and it was time to get that sorted out. We hired Corey who had helped us before with a few things to take charge of Content Marketing, SEO, Analytics setup and various other tools on our marketing site to fix lot of low hanging fruits.

If I was going to revamp it, I'd say make a list of your top 100 prospective customers, invite them on to be guests. I could help you come up with some interview angles. What are the common problems that they face? What kind of brainstorming could you do to help solve problems without it being a pitch for AOM.
There's another series of episodes about your founding story that I'd love to hear.
A series of audio case studies where you interview current customers. Ask them to coach listeners looking to build an online training biz...

I gonna also want but just stick where to start?
Over the years, we have grown both in terms of revenue and team size at a slow organic pace being bootstrapped. No VC Funding needed yet and will continue to grow in 2020.
We should do over 1.2 Million in Revenue in 2020 considering plans go as expected :)

It was time that I started focussing more on sales and marketing and get an experienced CTO to start looking at the tech stuff including infrastructure, team and many other things. Fortunately, I was able to convince him after trying for 1+ years to quit his cushy corporate job and give this startup thing a try.

Original founder was running this as a side project. He wanted to cash out and move on. I purchased it from him when there were hardly any paying customers (about 5) but the idea was validated. On a Labor Day weekend, we did the deal and couldn't be happier to finally become an entrepreneur.
