AcctWatch
Monitors accounts so you can have the @username you want
Well, it was finally time to launch.
I started this project in April as a side project (I hadn't really made a SaaS product before) and safe to say it took a little longer than expected! Most of the core functionality was done in just a couple weeks, but a few things got in the way:
- Payments: these were way harder to implement than I thought. However now that I've done it once, I'm really not worried about doing it again :)
- Other hobbies: I released an album with my band. Mixing, recording, playing shows, and promotion all took up tons of time.
- Work: I have a full time job sadly, so there goes most of my days.
It had a pretty great launch on ProductHunt as far as I'm concerned! Check it out: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/acct-watch
I did something else I was very proud of, but it caused a heck of a delay. My band Longsnapper released it's first EP! Check it out, we put tons of work into it and if you like Indie Rock it should have something for you.
I actually learned a lot about promotion, social media, and marketing here. The one thing I've learned: keep at it. It's really not a measure of the amazing content you have, or how often you post. It's a bit of both, but more importantly just putting in the work and getting it out there.

According to GitLab, this was the first commit!
I was really just looking to make a robot to track the username "@stolson" on all social media sites but figured: I am definitely not the first person to have this problem.
Design, testing, payments, more testing, etc etc...
Lots to do for more or less a glorified cron job!
