The easiest way to deploy your app

June 24, 2022 Adaptable Beta Launch!

We're officially launching the beta of Adaptable.io today!

We're building the easiest way for developers to deploy their full-stack apps to the cloud, whether for development or production. Just connect your GitHub repository and let Adaptable take care of the rest.

We'd love feedback from the IH community on the messaging and pricing.

And we'd love it even more if developers would try it out and let us know what you think. If you don't have your own app to deploy, you can deploy one of our Starter Apps to try things out. Use beta code 82E9-9145-2ADC. Everything is free right now.

Thanks in advance for your honest feedback!

January 12, 2021 The Adaptable journey...so far...

We started building Adaptable after our own frustrations as developers trying to launch a new full-stack app in the cloud. It took too much DevOps expertise and too much time to get a new app into a fully production-ready deployment.

So we set out to create a way for developers to quickly and easily get their apps running in the cloud. We didn't want devs to have to deal with any of the ugly complexities of Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, load balancing, certificates, DNS, or any of the rest of those infrastructure technologies. We wanted to create the product we've always wanted for ourselves: just connect a GitHub repo and have the platform handle the rest.

Over the past year or so, the two of us have been working on building that product. We're getting close to a beta launch now, so we're very excited to start getting more feedback on it!

Excited for the launch! What’s the reasoning behind the 2 managed database options? You don’t see people often starting with MSSQL.

We wanted to offer a SQL option and made a bet that many dev teams tend to choose a database interface (e.g. ORM) and category (SQL vs NoSQL) more than they really care about the specifics of the underlying database. And since we're bootstrapped and don't have that sweet VC cash, the Azure MSSQL serverless offering fit best with some of our cost needs and the desire to offer a database in our free tier, so we started with that. (MongoDB later released Atlas serverless, so we switched.) We'll add a PostgreSQL-compatible option as the next offering.

What database tech would you like to see? And do you tend to use a low-level interface to your database (i.e. writing actual SQL queries) or an ORM or query builder?

Great thought process. I’m a Postgres fan myself and use it on all my projects. I think ORMs are alright, but I’ve never been able to rely on an ORM for 100% of my queries and have to write some by hand. Additionally, all my migrations are done with raw SQL typically.

It's way too hard to host a full-stack app in the cloud. We built Adaptable to fix that.
