Publicly launched the Android version of the app
by Ben NolandA few months ago I asked the Indie Hackers community for advice on marketing my IOS only social body weight tracker. I was encouraged to go after a smaller niche, office weight loss challenges.
In order to properly accommodate group challenges, it became clear that I would also need to support Android. With some encouragement, I decided to buckle down and learn Android.
I had assumed that because my data model and back end services were already done (for the ios version), that doing the Android version would be pretty easy. However learning the Android stack took a little longer than I had expected. Things that I had taken for granted, because I knew how to do them in IOS, had to be relearned and didn’t always work quite the same way. Now that it’s done, it feels really good to have control of the entire stack and to have picked up a new skill.
