Adola Ring
Smart health ring with 6 sensors. No subscription, ever.
Today is launch day for Adola, a smart health ring I've been building to solve a problem I kept running into: every ring on the market forces you into a monthly subscription just to see your own biometric data.
The ring tracks 6 metrics passively — heart rate, SpO2, skin temperature, HRV, skin conductance, and movement — and you own all of it without paying $6-$12/month forever. A one-time purchase.
We're running pre-orders today at $5 deposit (full price TBD, Oura-competitive). The site is at adola.app.
A few things I've learned so far:
Hardware is genuinely hard. The ring form factor has constraints that wrist wearables don't — size, battery, heat, sensor placement.
- "No subscription" resonates strongly when you just say it plainly. Users on r/ouraring and r/SmartRings are exhausted by the subscription model.
- Getting on Product Hunt is table stakes, but the community engagement matters more than the launch-day rank.
Would love feedback from anyone who's built hardware before, or anyone frustrated with the existing subscription-locked wearable ecosystem. What would make you actually switch rings?
