Stop Scrolling. Start Doing.
I spent 20 years working high-volume commercial kitchen lines. When the ticket printer is screaming and you have eighty portions of protein working across three distinct thermal zones, you learn one universal truth: stagnation is fatal. A functional choice made with speed always beats a perfect choice that happens too late. You lock it in, execute, and move to the next ticket.
Then I look at modern consumer software, and it’s a masterclass in manufactured paralysis.
If you open a review app to find a dinner spot, you aren't being handed a solution. You are being dropped into an infinite abyss of sponsored flags, algorithmic smoothing, and five-thousand-word essays dissecting a parking lot. You enter the "Veto Loop." An hour passes, you're starving, and you've spent more time navigating corporate UI than it takes to walk down the street and eat.
This isn't a design flaw. It’s an extraction model. Big tech doesn't want you to find a restaurant in 30 seconds. If you close the phone, they lose your eyeballs. They intentionally induce optimization paralysis because your collective decision fatigue represents billions in programmatic ad revenue.
So I 86'ed the deliberation and built an explicit circuit-breaker for that loop: Adventria.
The Anti-Engagement Framework
I built this thing with the raw operational velocity of a line cook. No corporate polish, no engagement tracking loops, and zero data harvesting.
Zero Auth: No signups, no onboarding fluff, no database gating. Drop in, use it, get out.
The 10-Spot Sandbox: It pulls local data and aggressively chops the options down to a hard shortlist of 10 solid spots based entirely on your immediate vibe.
The Randomized Action Engine: If you and your group still hit an interpersonal deadlock between those final choices, the app builds a mechanical tie-breaker wheel directly into the results to force an immediate outcome.
It’s 70% a panic button for exhausted cognitive bandwidth and 30% unadulterated local discovery.
The Infrastructure
The stack matches the philosophy. No massive, over-engineered frameworks just for the sake of it:
Compute: GCP Compute Engine & HTTPS Load Balancers (just migrated over to handle our subdomain plumbing cleanly).
Frontend: Custom vanilla JavaScript and Tailwind CSS running inside a lightweight HTML5 container.
I didn’t build it to maximize screen time; I built it to get you off your phone and back to actual execution.
Take a look at the flow over at adventria.app and let me know where it hits or misses for your own decision fatigue.
