I show rock climbers how to become location independent.
I was inspired after listening to the latest podcast with Pete Codes @petecodes of No CS Degree - his story just gave me such massive motivation to simply get off the ground and ship my site.
I have no idea where I really want to take AIMV, but the basic idea is to just create engaging, inspiring content that helps others (and myself) learn how to build a location independent lifestyle. I've already interviewed some incredible "digital dirtbags" and so grateful for them taking the time to share their stories with me.
After building my site from scratch over the past month I think it's now time to share what I'm doing so that others can benefit!

I'm a passionate rock climber and world traveller and work as a freelance web developer on my own terms. I got into coding because I wanted a better life - I wanted freedom and flexibility - and most all, I wanted to climb whenever, and wherever!
That's the premise behind my site - I interview "digital dirtbags" - rock climbers who have turned their "creative" skills into a sustainable income so they can travel the world.
I share their stories with the hope that I can teach other adventure lovers how to build a sustainable income stream that allows them to freely travel and climb around the world.

hey Jack, glad you liked my interview! You could definitely apply the interviews website model to digital nomads if that's what you are proposing? Good luck!
Yeah - actually the term I came up with is "digital dirtbags" - basically a dirtbag is a climber who just loved to be outdoors and in the mountains and basically does whatever it takes to stay outdoors - which is usually pretty rough and unsustainable way of living ... unless that is, you have a digital or creative skill to earn an income - and that's the inspiration - to teach / show others what digital / creative opportunities exist out there so other climbers and travellers can learn and get inspired!
sounds like a good niche! I think digital nomads will actually cover a lot of people as it become more popular so maybe a sub category like you describe is the way to go.
So people call themselves dirtbags though? Maybe digital daredevils is better? :)
Yeah, it really just covers any digital nomad who is a climber / adventure traveller.. But yeah I think the idea of "dirtbag" goes hand-in-hand with climbers ... so they'll get it ... it's pretty hyper-niche, but it's exactly what I'm into - I'm a climber, I wanna meet more climbers and nomads, and we all suffer from burning our cash on climbing trips ... which is the reason why learned to code and became a freelancer, so I could work and travel, and climb anytime 😀
