Building Ahsk: Bringing AI Into the macOS Workflow
Hey Indie Hackers 👋
This is our first post here. We’re building Ahsk, a macOS menu bar AI assistant, after running into the same problem again and again. Using AI usually meant switching apps, copying text, losing context, and breaking focus.
We wanted AI to feel like part of the system, not another tab to manage. That’s why Ahsk lives in the menu bar and shows up right where work happens. We also built Work Sessions so AI can remember context across a project, making follow-ups feel natural instead of repetitive.
We’re early, learning fast, and building with real usage in mind. Looking forward to sharing the journey and learning from everyone here.
