AI Dubbing

When I started building AI Dubbing, I kept coming back to one frustrating problem: video can reach a global audience, but localization is still too slow and expensive for most creators and small teams. Traditional dubbing can require translators, voice actors, audio editing, and several rounds of coordination. That process may work for a major production, but it is difficult to justify for a product demo, tutorial, course lesson, or short social clip.

I built AI Dubbing to make the workflow simpler. You upload a video, let the app detect its source language, choose from more than 20 target languages, and generate a dubbed version in the browser. The system is designed to preserve recognizable speaker characteristics while keeping the translated speech aligned with the timing of the original video. You can then preview and download the result without moving between several tools.

While developing the product, I realized that localization is not a single workflow. Some people want to translate an entire video, so I created a focused AI Video Translator. Others only need to process a recording, podcast segment, or voice note, which led to the Audio Translator. I also added language-specific workflows, including a Spanish-to-English Translator for people who know exactly which language pair they need

The hardest part has not been connecting a model to an upload form. It has been making the complete pipeline reliable: handling different media formats, detecting and transcribing speech, translating without losing meaning, producing natural audio, and combining everything into a usable result. Timing is especially important. Even a strong translation feels wrong when the new speech does not match the pace of the original recording.

The product is still early, so I am sharing it with the Indie Hackers community to learn where it is most useful.
