AI Hug

Hi everyone 👋

I’m an indie maker and I recently launched https://aihugvideo.app — a simple AI tool that turns two photos into a short hugging video.

The idea came from something surprisingly emotional.

A while ago I saw people using AI to create videos of themselves hugging someone they miss — partners in long-distance relationships, friends who live far away, even loved ones who have passed away. The results were short but powerful.

So I wondered:
Could this be turned into a simple tool that anyone can use?

That’s how AI Hug Video started.

What the product does

The idea is simple:

1. Upload two photos (or one photo with two people)

2. The AI analyzes the faces and body positions

3. It generates a short video where the two people hug each other

The video is only a few seconds long, but it feels surprisingly real.

Why I built it

Most AI video tools are powerful but complicated.
I wanted something:

• extremely simple

• focused on one emotional use case

• usable in seconds

You don’t need prompts, editing skills, or complex settings. Just upload photos and generate the hug.

What I learned building it

A few interesting challenges:

• Getting stable face consistency between frames

• Making the hug motion look natural instead of robotic

• Keeping generation time short enough for a good UX

It’s still early, but the reactions from users have been really interesting — people use it for couples, family photos, and even nostalgic memories.

What’s next

I’m thinking about adding more interaction styles, like:

• holding hands

• high-five

• dancing

• reunion hugs
