Three months ago, a VTuber friend messaged me: "Why does it take six tools, two subscriptions, and a YouTube tutorial that feels like a PhD defense just to make one character copy my dance moves?"
I didn't have a good answer.
So I built one.
Meet motioncontrol.media

It's a browser-based AI motion transfer tool. The workflow is stupidly simple (on purpose):
Upload a reference video – you dancing, a clip of a cat stretching, whatever
Upload a character image – an anime girl, a product photo, a meme frog
Hit generate
That's it. The AI copies the motion, expressions, and even camera movement onto your character.
The frustration that started it
I've played with every motion tool out there. Mocap suits cost thousands. Runway, Pika, Kling – great models, but I was juggling five tabs, separate credits, different prompt formats. Node-based workflows made me feel like a sysadmin instead of a creator.
And don't get me started on GPU setups. Life's too short.
I wanted something that felt like magic, not like assembly instructions.
What I actually care about preserving
Not just "pose matching." Real stuff creators notice:
The rhythm and timing of body motion (especially for dance)
Facial expressions and lip sync (because dead-eyed characters are creepy)
Fast choreography consistency (turns out, this is really hard)
Keeping the original camera and background when you want it
And yes – it all runs in your browser via cloud inference. No downloads. No "Python environment not found."
The boring part I became obsessed with
Everyone talks about models: Kling 3.0, Wan 2.2, Seedance 2.0. And sure, I integrated all of them into one interface so you don't need separate accounts.
But honestly? I spent a weirdly emotional amount of time on things nobody claps for:
Queue management (so you're not just staring at a spinner)
Prompt reuse (because retyping the same thing 12 times makes people cry)
Handling failed generations gracefully (a nice error message instead of a blank void)
Making outputs reproducible enough that you can iterate without losing your mind
This stuff matters. Bad UX kills creativity faster than bad AI.
Who's actually using it (this surprised me)
I launched quietly. People found it anyway. Use cases so far:
VTubers making reaction content without rigging hell
AI influencer accounts that don't look like robots
Meme generation that actually lands
Musicians and dancers testing choreography
Indie animators who can't afford a studio
Ad people making rapid previs and storyboards
One user told me: "I made my D&D character do the floss dance and sent it to my party. They lost it."
That's why I'm doing this.
What still breaks (honest, not marketing)
I'm not going to pretend it's perfect:
Occlusion-heavy scenes (hands crossing over bodies get confused)
Multi-person interaction (two people high-fiving? Good luck)
Extremely fast camera motion
Long videos start to drift
Fine finger movements in some models are... rough
I'm actively chipping away at these. No fake hype.
What I genuinely need help with
I'm one builder. I don't have a research team. What would help me most:
Honestly – how does output quality compare to whatever you're using now?
Do you actually want an all-in-one interface, or do you prefer picking best-of-breed models?
What would you pay for a tool like this? (Be brutal. I can take it.)
What control is still missing? Sliders? Masks? Pose editing?
The real reason I'm posting
I didn't build this because AI is cool. I built it because a friend asked a simple question, and every answer I could give her was a list of compromises.
