AiCook
Ai recipe generator
The Backstory Every evening at our house used to start with the same stressful question: "What are we eating tonight?" My wife is a great cook, but she was hitting a wall. Looking at a fridge with random ingredients and trying to mentally assemble a meal was causing serious decision fatigue. I realized I could use my dev skills to build her a "Creative Sous-Chef."
What is AiCook? AiCook is a minimalist tool that turns a list of random ingredients into a chef-quality recipe in seconds. No ads, no 2,000-word blog backstories—just the food.
The "Aha!" Moment Initially, it was just a simple generator. But after watching her use it, I realized she wanted to keep the winners. So, I just pushed a massive update that shifts AiCook from a one-off tool to a personal digital cookbook.
What’s under the hood?
The Brain: Powered by [Gemini/OpenAI] to handle complex ingredient logic.
The Memory: I implemented a saving/sharing system so users can build a library of their favorite AI wins.
The Philosophy: Clean UI. I hate how bloated recipe sites have become. AiCook is designed to be used with one hand while holding a spatula.
Why I’m sharing this here I’m an indie dev trying to build something that actually solves a daily human friction point. I’m not looking to "disrupt an industry"—I just want to make Tuesday nights a little easier for people like my wife.
The Problem Every day around 5:00 PM, I noticed the same "dark cloud" hanging over my wife. It wasn’t the cooking itself—she’s great at that—it was the decision fatigue. The mental gymnastics of looking at a half-empty fridge and trying to invent a meal from scratch was exhausting her.
I realized that "What’s for dinner?" is actually a data problem.
The Solution: AiCook I decided to build AiCook specifically for her. I wanted a tool where she could just list the random ingredients she had on hand, and the AI would act as a creative sous-chef to give her instant, delicious ideas.
No more scrolling through blogs with 10-page backstories—just ingredients in, recipes out.
Why I’m Launching It What started as a "gift" for my wife actually worked. It turned her kitchen stress into a bit of a game. I figured if it could help her, it could probably help the thousands of other people who stare at a carton of eggs and a bell pepper and feel defeated.
About
I built this for my wife because I saw how much stress meal planning caused her. I wanted to give her (and you) that time and energy back.

The shift from a simple recipe generator to a personal cookbook is a meaningful product evolution. Curious whether saving recipes has changed how often people come back to AiCook compared with the original one-off experience.
This is a great example of solving a real everyday problem instead of just chasing trends. I like the idea of turning random ingredients into a recipe quickly.
I'm currently building a creator platform and it started the same way — noticing a problem smaller creators face with visibility and growth. It's interesting how many products start from personal experiences like this.
