After months of building, I’ve just launched AILabeling — a Google Sheets add-on that generates print-ready labels directly from spreadsheet data.
The idea came from a simple problem: many teams already manage product, inventory, or shipping data in Google Sheets, but creating labels still requires exporting data and rebuilding layouts in separate design tools.
AILabeling lets you:
• design labels with exact physical dimensions
• insert dynamic fields linked to your sheet columns
• add barcodes, QR codes, images, and shapes
• preview labels using real spreadsheet rows
• export print-ready PDFs
My goal is to make label generation as simple as working with spreadsheet data.
I’m currently looking for early testers and feedback from the community — especially from people who use Google Sheets for operations, inventory, or shipping.

Small reflection after launching this.
One thing I’ve learned quickly: getting the first users is much harder than building the product itself.
There are actually very few places where you can share a new product organically without paying for exposure, so right now I’m exploring different ways to reach early testers and learn where people who need label tools actually hang out.
One idea I’m considering is building a small Chrome extension related to label generation. I’m not yet sure what the exact functionality would be, but it might help reach a wider audience than a Google Workspace add-on alone.
Curious if anyone here has experimented with browser extensions as a distribution channel. Did it help bring new users to your main product?
The best tools solve boring problems honestly.
We built a field sales app for a client where their team was managing route data in Excel and then manually creating printed sheets for each rep every morning. Someone spending 1 hour daily just copy pasting data into a template.
Nobody talks about these problems because they are not sexy. But the person doing that copy paste every single morning will pay for a solution immediately.
The Google Sheets angle is smart because you are not asking people to change their existing workflow. Data already lives there. You just remove the last painful step.
Curious what industry you are seeing most interest from so far, inventory teams or shipping teams?
Good question — and honestly it's still something I'm trying to figure out.
What I'm discovering is that both of those segments already have established solutions.
Inventory or warehouse teams often use large platforms that already include label generation as part of the system. Smaller sellers usually rely on the basic software that comes bundled with their label printers.
But in both cases there are small gaps where something simpler and more flexible can help. That's the space I'm trying to explore.
One friction I’ve noticed is surprisingly basic: many people don't realize that you can print correctly sized labels from a PDF using a regular label printer. In most cases all you need is to configure a custom paper size that matches the label dimensions.
Once that part is understood, a lot of other advantages start to make sense — like generating labels dynamically from spreadsheet data, changing layouts quickly, or producing batches without rebuilding templates.
So it sometimes feels like part of the work is not only building the tool, but also helping people realize that this workflow is possible in the first place.
In a way it feels like trying to form a small market around a capability that already exists technically, but isn't obvious to many users yet.
