September 30, 2025 I have added video generation to my AI interior design tool

Hei!

I'm excited to finally share a major new feature for my web app, AInteriors. I've been grinding away on this, so I would like to share it with other programmers and see what you think

Goal: Catch some attention

In any field, it is always important to visualize where one is going. This is particularly relevant in the interior design sector, where it is does not matter if one is in the real estate, interior design, or even just the home renovation space. Static images are great, but they don't always capture the feel and flow of a space. In addition, internet is exposing more and more content, so catching some eyes is only getting harder.

Creating compelling "before-after" content or a virtual tour traditionally requires either complex software or hiring a professional—both of which cost time and money.

For any non-professional, or even for those with limited budges, hiring people or buying software is often not an option. This means the marketing assets for a property or design project don't have the "wow" factor they deserve.

My Solution: AI-Generated Video for Interior Design

AInteriors already allowed users to generate design ideas using AI. But I've just pushed a huge update that I think is a game-changer: one-click video generation.

You can now do two things that were previously a massive pain:

  1. Generate Cinematic Room Tours: Upload a picture of a room, let the AI redesign it, and then with a single click, the app creates a smooth, panning video tour of the newly designed space. It feels like a virtual walkthrough, perfect for listings, portfolios, or social media.

  2. Create Instant Before-After Videos: The app automatically takes the original "before" image and the new AI-generated "after" design and creates a dynamic video that seamlessly transitions between the two. It’s perfect for showing the dramatic impact of a redesign.

How It Works

The core AI magic for the design generation comes from the most modern AI generation models, both for image generation and video. I have integrated everything in such a way that the generation of any image leads to the most photorealistic interior designs, while serving as the perfect input for video generation. Fine tuning these models has not been easy, but it is definitely paying off. I'm extremely happy with the results, as the videos are way better than I had ever imagined. The transitions are smooth, the styles are always preserved, the room dimensions and architecture are never changed, and there are no hallucinations from the AI models.

Feedback is appreciated!

As many, I'm here to promote this new feature. But I'm also looking forward for some feedback. For those of you that might find this relevant:

  • What do you think of the video generation feature? Is this something you need?

  • Can you see this being a valuable tool for your own projects (or for people you know)?

  • Any suggestions on pricing or features I should consider next?

Check it out for yourself!

I’ve made it super simple to try. You can go to the website and generate your first few videos for free. I give 15 FREE credits on sign up.

Let me know what you think in the comments below. I'll be here all day to answer any questions about the product, the tech, or the journey of building this thing.

Thanks for your time!

September 11, 2025 I've built an AI interior design tool. Today, I'm launching AInteriors!

Hey Hackers,

For the last few months, I've been deep in the build cave, and today I'm incredibly excited (and nervous!) to finally share what I've been working on.

TL;DR: I built AInteriors (https://ainteriors.app), a web app that uses AI to generate interior designs and virtually stage empty rooms. I’m giving every new signup 15 free credits to try it out so do not be shy!

The "Why" - It Started with an Empty Room

The idea came from a classic problem. I was helping a friend move into a new, completely empty apartment. We were staring at blank walls, trying to imagine what it could be. "Maybe a modern look? Or something more industrial?" We spent more than we should scrolling through Pinterest, but we just couldn't visualize how those styles would actually look in his space.

That frustration sparked the idea: What if you could just take a photo of your room and "try on" different design styles like you try on clothes? I know there are similar tools out there, but wanted to give it a shot myself. I feel some of those tools are a bit expensive and others somehow underwhelming, so I said: Why not?

The "What" - AInteriors

So, I built it. AInteriors is a simple web app where you:

  1. Upload a photo of your room (empty or furnished).

  2. Choose from 20+ styles or describe your own with a text prompt.

  3. Let the AI generate high-quality, realistic new designs in seconds.

It's for anyone who's ever been stuck trying to imagine a room's potential, from homeowners to real estate agents who need to stage properties quickly and affordably. And also, it's cool! After so many weeks developing it I'm still amused by the AI capabilities to create new spaces.

The "How" - My Go + HTMX Journey (The Fun Part!)

I wanted to build this as a solo founder without getting bogged down in a complex tech stack. That led me to a setup that has been an absolute joy to work with:

  • Backend: Go (with Gin) - I chose Go because I wanted performance, static typing (goodbye, "undefined is not a function"!), and a single binary for dead-simple deployment. The learning curve was real, but the stability has been worth it.

  • Frontend: Templ + HTMX - This was the game-changer. I was determined to avoid a heavy JS framework like React or Vue. Templ lets me write type-safe Go components that render to HTML, and HTMX sprinkles in dynamic, interactive behavior without writing a single line of complex JavaScript. The result is a super-fast, server-rendered app that feels like a modern SPA. I cannot recommend this stack enough for indie hackers.

  • Database: SQLite - Simple, file-based, no-fuss persistence. It's all you need for a project like this to get off the ground. I do not need more for now so why should I over-complicate it?

The Business Model: No Subscriptions!

I'm personally tired of the "subscribe to everything" model. So, AInteriors is pay-as-you-go. You buy credits, and 1 credit gets you 1 design. That's it. Simple and transparent. And extremely cheap! Go and check competitors. The difference could not be bigger!

The Ask: I'd Love Your Feedback!

As a solo builder, I'm way too close to this project and would be incredibly grateful for your honest feedback.

I'm giving every new signup 15 free credits (no credit card needed), which is more than enough to play around and redesign a room.

Check it out here: https://ainteriors.app

Specifically, I'd love to know:

  • Is the landing page clear? Does it explain the value proposition well?

  • Is the signup and design generation process smooth?

  • What do you think of the credit-based pricing? Is it fair?

  • What features are obviously missing that would make this 10x better for you?

Thanks for reading this far. This community is a huge inspiration, and I can't wait to hear what you think!
