October 28, 2020 Launched MVP

We finally launched our MVP on the Google Workspace Marketplace. As with most other founders, we made the mistake of trying to perfect it and should honestly have just launched a month ago... but better late then never!

Our plugin for Google Sheets is now live: https://bit.ly/ABXnocode.

It's free for now, but early users will get a preferential pricing of $9/mo/user when we start charging.

June 15, 2020 Crossed 1,000 signups.

We took the feet off the gas paddle re: signups and have been focusing on building out the MVP. We did manage to cross 1,000 people on our waitlist—so this marks the end of our free-for-life giveaway. If you're seeing this on Indiehacker and would like first-dibs on Airboxr, PM me and I will add you to a 3-month free account when we launch (in exchange for honest feedback!).

March 29, 2020 Crossed 600 signups.

Almost done with a super-early alpha run. Excited to be heading toward 1,000 signups. We also have a business working with us to help prioritise some integrations. More than the data sync itself, the sidebar is becoming very popular with folks testing it!

February 27, 2020 Crossed 400 signups

Had a short period of no-activity cos of work. Just got over my work commitments and getting on this full time—tried out a bit of Instagram and influencer marketing: the latter did better than I expected. Goal is to hit 600 in March, before we are ready with a super-early Alpha run.

October 26, 2019 Crossed 180 signups: looking for alpha users

We just crossed 180 signups on signup.airboxr.com. This is mostly through a mix of social marketing and Quora—we're at about 8 signups a day at around $1 per conversion.

We're also opening our call for alpha users: if you use spreadsheets and (any) CRMs, please add yourself here: https://airboxr.typeform.com/to/wpSZec so we can put you on the early-access list.

Massive thanks to the IH community for all the feedback so far!

Is that paid marketing for Quora?

    1. 1

Yes, extremely targeted to some demographics. That said, once FB optimised, it was doing better conversions than Quora.

October 17, 2019 Crossed 100 signups!

We just crossed 100 signups on signup.airboxr.com! 🚀 This came from multiple optimising cycles on the landing page.

  • Moved the landing page from Wordpress (still live at airboxr.com) to Wix.
  • Minimising clutter and detail on the page.
  • Replacing generic images with an image of a spreadsheet and the integrations the product will provide.
  • Most paid signups coming from Facebook and Quora.

Nice work! Landing page looks good, but I noticed the menu doesn’t work on mobile (iphone). Might want to take a look. Cheers!

Thank you, @mathieujofis! There isn't supposed to be a Menu on mobile—I could only check on Android. Do you mind pasting me a screenshot?

      1. 1

Sure thing. There is no menu, but there is still the menu button. and when you click it a blank thing shows up. Might be confusing for some users or look broken to some people: https://imgur.com/a/uLTZSzK

Aah, thank you very much for the screenshot! I'm in the process of directing everything to this landing page that works better: www.signup.airboxr.com which doesn't have this problem. The airboxr.com landing page wasn't converting too well. :-(

October 15, 2019 Crossed 100 responses on customer survey.

We started the survey a few weeks earlier than launching the signup pages—and we hit 100 responses today! I will share the broad findings from our survey that analyses how users use spreadsheets soon. If you haven't yet signed up, please do so on http://bit.ly/2MrHTBr and take 2 mins to provide feedback on how you use spreadsheets.

October 10, 2019 Crossed 30 signups.

The alternative signup page seems to have worked. With minimal push, we were able to receive 20 extra signups (10 signups on the Wordpress site took forever!). Majority of the signups also took the time to answer our 2 min survey. If you haven't already checked out, please go to: http://bit.ly/2MrHTBr and sign up now!

October 6, 2019 Set up an alternate signup page.

Just set up a new landing page on Wix, to test a) if the copy leads to better signups and b) if Wix can help me move faster. So far, b) seems to be true.

Looking forward to everyone's feedback on https://www.signup.airboxr.com/. Do post here, and signup if you have a moment!

Hi, that's cool. Are you saying Wix was easier than the previous tool you used? What was it?
I see on the product page you had a Typeform feedback collection initiative, right?
Just thinking how Wix compares to other alternatives when making simple landing pages

    1. 2

Hi, I had Wordpress (which is still live on the main site: www.airboxr.com). The Wix builder is definitely simpler to use. I still have the typeform on both WP and Wix sites—once you sign up, you are automatically redirected to the typeform survey.

I've used multiple page-builders on Wordpress and Squarespace in the more newer no-code platforms. If you want to build just a landing page, then you can also consider SP, Strikingly etc., but if you want anything more than html pages, then Wix is a very good choice.

August 12, 2019 Started gathering feedback.

We've been using spreadsheets for the past 20 years. So does every businessman, analyst, and researcher in the world. It's not perfect, but spreadsheets always just... work.

Instead of trying to change spreadsheets, we are trying to understand how they can become the most powerful tool they can be. If you use spreadsheets, we would like to hear from you: https://sapsonic.typeform.com/to/rZlBS9
