Altomatic

After working as a web developer for over 10 years, I’ve spent countless hours dealing with oversized images and optimizing them manually. It was always frustrating to see how much time went into resizing, compressing, and converting images to web-safe formats. And to make things worse, we often didn’t get alt text from copywriters or project managers.

As devs, we were already stretched thin, so alt text often got missed entirely. But now, with accessibility becoming more critical (and a small SEO boost being a nice bonus), I wanted to solve this problem once and for all.

That’s why I built Altomatic.ai—a tool that combines image optimization with AI-generated alt text in one seamless workflow. Sure, there are other tools out there that do parts of this, but I wanted something that could save even more time by combining these tasks into a single solution.

We’re starting with a WordPress plugin but plan to expand to a web version and CDN integration soon.

I’d love to hear your thoughts:

• Have you faced similar challenges with image management?

• What features would make this tool indispensable for you?

• Are there other tools you’ve used that worked well (or didn’t)?

I’d appreciate any feedback or advice from this awesome community.
