Amnesia
Work Activities Tracker
We use Basecamp at work and perform a daily "What did you work on today?" survey, which is great if your team is working asynchronously, but it sometimes is hard to remember all the small things I was working on during the day. This gave me the idea to create Amnesia.
There are days where many small tasks consume your work day. These days can be very frustrating since you originally planned to work on a big feature, but the timepasses quickly, without any progress on the stuff you wanted to work on.
In such situations it's very important to be aware of all the great work you have done - each task might be small and look unimportant, but they still contribute to the bigger picture.
This is something that I struggled with to keep on my mind, so I decided to build a tool that automatically fetches my activities from GitHub and presents them to me. Every pull request review, every discussion on an issue and every pull request I submitted.
But Amnesia doesn't only work GitHub, it also integrates with Todoist (if you're a premium Todoist subscriber) which allows you to track all sorts of work you've done. This could be support requests, hiring interviews, pairing sessions or any other kind of activity.
For the future I plan to support many more sources of activities, which will depend on the requests of the community and the people using or planning to use Amnesia. Potential sources include Trello and Zendesk.
I hope that some people will find a great companion in Amnesia, that helps them be more aware of the great work they are doing.
Cheers
