AmpleDawn

A private financial independence planner

June 9, 2026 I’m building AmpleDawn, starting with a 2-minute FI reality check

I’m building AmpleDawn because getting into financial independence can feel weirdly hard if you’re not already deep in the FIRE world.

A lot of tools assume you know the language, want you to connect bank accounts or throw million options at you before you even know how to start. I wanted something calmer: plain-English, privacy-first, and useful for people who are trying to build better money habits without turning finance into a hobby.

The full product is still being built. The idea is a private desktop financial independence planner where your numbers stay on your computer - no bank linking, no account, no selling data.

As a first step, I built the first piece as a small interactive simulation - https://play.ampledawn.com/

It asks for a few basic numbers, then runs a 20-year market scenario where you make buy/sell/sit-tight decisions as the market moves. At the end, it shows how those choices affected your projected FI timeline.

There’s a lesson at the end, but I won’t spoil it. :) You'd be able to see how your own habits can impact your plan financial independence date.

Happy to get any feedback on

  1. Does the simulation make the lesson clear without feeling preachy?

  2. Does the privacy-first angle feel actual meaningful, or just nice-to-have?

  3. Would this make you more curious about the planner I’m building next?

Would love any blunt feedback from other builders, especially if you’ve worked on finance, education, or behavior-change products.

About

I’m building AmpleDawn because getting into FI shouldn’t need handing over your data or trusting loud finance advice. I want a private, simple tool that keeps your numbers local and helps build steady habits.
