November 1, 2021 Reached 500+ Happy Clients in 9 months

Joy, happiness, gratitude, excitement, and a little bit of stress - as always!

We have reached over 500 clients only in nine months. These numbers are good indicators and make us believe more in what we do. It motivates the team, gives us financial support and social proof. But more importantly, we believe we have made a difference in their business.

We have gained 75+ reviews on the Shopify app store - and most of them express their gratitude to us. That's priceless - and much more important than the number of sales or revenue.

Let me answer the question that most readers will be asking: How did we gain this traction? What are the sales channels that worked the best?

Well, as 13+ years experienced digital marketing specialist, I am a big fan of "organic reach". I am not against the Ads - and I am even quite good at it. However, we haven't run any ads for Analyzify so far. We have only focused on organic reach. Here is what we have done:

And we are doubling up our efforts on this topic. On the other hand, we just kept focusing on one single metric: Merchant Happiness. We have given our best to each case and we're also improving our product and support flow to have even better results!

August 2021 20+ Daily Support Tickets

Help! I need help! My Google Analytics is not working! Shopify Analytics shows wrong numbers!

We are a customer-oriented company. This comes from our core values - and also our habits from Upwork. Our principle was "Help the clients as much as you can". So we have applied this to Analyzify as well.

We have been helping Shopify merchants with many topics not only for our product. We have set meetings, recorded videos for them, helped with their SEO - and even helped with their problems caused by other apps.

Well, it surely helped us a lot. We have formed a great relationship with them, learned a lot about the market, and also gain amazing Shopify App store reviews. On the other hand, we started to ask ourselves if this was scalable. We didn't care back then.

Now we had to care. We switched from Helpscout to Zendesk and we started to invest so much time into documentation, saved replies, blog posts so that we can scale our support.

It is now going better but we still have many miles to take.

July 20, 2021 50+ Shopify App Store Reviews

We have been focusing on customer success since day #1. We have paid close attention to each client and offered our help.

We have made sure their setup is correctly done, and the data is flowing as expected. We have gone further and also checked our merchants' Shopify & Google Analytics accounts to validate the setup and data.

Furthermore, we have sent them suggestions based on their Google Analytics data. Lastly, we have offered our genius help on the other data analytics-related topics as well.

Many told us, "It is not scalable." However, we were proud to care about our clients more than we cared about being scalable.

So here we are - by July 2021, we have reached 50+ Shopify App Store reviews.

Thanks to all of our clients!

    Hey @ekuplu,
    Congrats, that's really impressive.
We've recently broken the 20 Shopify Appstore review mark. 83 is super impressive.
What would you say your main user acquisition channels are? I'm guessing App store first, but curious what other channels are working for you.
    Cheers,
    Oli

      Hello, @oli_typified!

Congrats on 20+! It will be faster after that. Our core channel is actually not the App store :) We receive more purchases from organic channels such as Youtube and SEO. I'd recommend creating valuable content for merchants on your niche and it will pay off within a few months.

Very cool, glad I asked. I'm looking forward to switching things up in the new year, so I'll give this some thought.
        Cheers!

Very cool! Congrats. I have a neglected side-project Shopify app. Should pick it up. What is your tech stack?

Yes, do it; and you won't regret it! Don't forget to create content around your domain.

The first version is Ruby & Rails + Shopify Liquid - but now moving to Bubble & No-Code as mentioned above.

What's yours? Already on the app store? I'm happy to provide feedback!

Not yet on the App store unfortunately.
It's a product customization tool (changing colors and text).
I have a working Flask application, currently running on Heroku. Not yet sure how to integrate that with Shopify... I'll check out the no-code stuff for sure!

May 31, 2021 100% Growth in a Month?!

May has been a shocking month for us! We started the month with 55 merchants and finished at 110!

There have been some days with 5+ sales but more importantly, we have ONLY had 3 days without any new merchant purchasing Analyzify. All the other days, we have had 1 to 5 sales. This was promising!

The growth didn't come from a specific channel. All our acquisition sources have kept growing naturally - especially our Shopify - Google Tag Manager Youtube Course.

In the meantime, we kept improving our product and kept making it more stable, and adding new features.

April 10, 2021 Passed $5K+ in revenue.

The first 10 clients had brought these questions to us:
"Are we doing the right thing?
Is our app actually working?
Is this a good business at all? etc"

Then we started having new clients with less complex cases. That made us understand that it was ONLY the first group of clients who had a lot of problems - who required additional support and attention.

In April, we made 40+ sales and reached $5K+ in revenue. The support load has been quite acceptable and we also receive many positive client reviews on the app store.

We started to be recognized as a good, alternative Shopify Analytics app with many ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews on Shopify App Store.

March 2021 Created a Youtube Course: Shopify - GTM 🤩

I have always liked education. I have been tutoring on SEO, Google Ads, Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics field for a long time. I love teaching.

That was the core reason we had made our first video GA4 Wizard

It received so wonderful reactions - and also brought many sales. This time, we wanted to create a video series: Shopify Google Tag Manager Course

I created a nice structure where I would simply teach Google Tag Manager for Shopify merchants; we would set up Google Analytics 4, Universal Analytics, Google Ads Conversions, and Facebook Pixel through Google Tag Manager. It was totally actionable and I didn't even advertise our product aggressively. In most videos, I don't mention Analyzify at all.

March 2021 First 10 clients! But?!

Who would buy an app with Zero Reviews? The most desperate ones.

Frankly, we didn't have clear expectations or goals. We just built the app for our own clients - and then decided to publish it on the app store as well.

We were too happy receiving clients - on the other hand, we weren't sure if we did the right thing by publishing the app publicly.

We attracted the hardest client cases. People bought our app with zero reviews because they didn’t have any other choice. No other solution worked, no other professional solved their problem.

Their cases were too complex and hard. That made us think our app is not working at all. We needed to provide in-depth support to them. It took us 10s of hours to finish their setup.

This was a very bad business for us. A service that would normally cost $1000s for a $139 app!

How could we scale? Why were we even doing this business?

Stay tuned for the updates!

February 2021 Got 1st sale on Shopify app store

Surprisingly, Shopify app store didn't send us an email when we made our first sale :) We have realized it completely by chance.

It was an amazing feeling. We have paid too much attention to our first client (as well as the next ones) - and made sure to create an amazing experience - and learn a lot!

January 2021 Got approved by Shopify app store

After testing in 20+ test stores, we were ready to launch. Shopify's approval process took around 2 weeks and we were in the Shopify app store by the end of January.

Check it out! > https://apps.shopify.com/analyzify

It has been a very exciting period for us as it was our first SaaS product. Also first experience out of Upwork market.

January 29, 2021 Freemium Version: Analyzify GA4 Wizard

We have received a lot of questions and requests about Google Analytics 4 integration and our app works just great with Google Analytics 4 & Shopify.

We decided to launch a freemium version that will allow Shopify stores to set up Google Analytics 4 - including the e-commerce features. It wasn't easy to decide to provide a piece of our software for free but the demand was huge and we also wanted to create a lead magnet.

We launched Analyzify GA4 Wizard (https://analyzify.app/google-analytics-4-shopify/) and also a detailed Youtube tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0kUtXVi0cE) to explain how it works.
