The "Aha!" Moment A few months ago, I started playing Anime Vanguards on Roblox. I noticed something frustrating: the community was huge, but the data was a mess. People were using outdated spreadsheets and guessing their combat stats.

As a developer, I saw an opportunity. Why not build a "Source of Truth" for this community?

The Strategy: Programmatic SEO over Content Farming Most gaming sites try to rank by hiring cheap writers to churn out 500-word blog posts. I took a different approach. I spent my time writing scripts to extract raw data from the game files (Lua modules).

This allowed me to build VanguardsCalc, where the pages aren't just "articles"—they are data-driven tools:

• The DPS Calculator: Real-time combat math that Wiki sites can't provide.

• The Portal Database: Automatically updated drop rates for the endgame raids.

• Smart Tier Lists: Rankings that adjust based on raw unit scaling, not just my opinion.

Technical Hurdles The biggest challenge was performance. Gamers are impatient. I used Astro to keep the site extremely lightweight. By shipping zero JavaScript for the static database pages and only hydrating the Calculator components, I achieved a performance score that makes traditional Wikis look like they're from the 90s.

Early Traction I’m currently focusing on "Backlink Building" by integrating with community hubs. Instead of asking for a favor, I offer them a tool that solves their users' questions. The result? A much higher acceptance rate for site submissions.

What’s Next? I’m now working on multi-language support (Spanish, Portuguese, German) because the Roblox community is global. One data extraction, multiple language versions—the ultimate scalability for a solo dev.
