Anyway
Agent-ready payments and billing for global commerce
When we started working on Anyway in May 2025, we kept seeing the same gap: developers could build and ship AI-native products quickly, but selling them globally still meant stitching together checkout, subscriptions, tax, invoicing, and payouts. And as agents became capable of calling tools and completing workflows, they still couldn't reliably pay or get paid within controlled budgets.
Anyway is our attempt to close both gaps.
For human-facing commerce, Anyway acts as the Merchant of Record. A developer can create a product, set a price, and share a hosted payment link. We handle checkout, recurring subscriptions, sales tax, VAT, GST, compliant invoices, and net payouts. The current model is 3.9% + $0.50 per transaction, with no monthly or setup fee.
For agent builders, we're also building funded agent wallets, programmable spending limits, pay-per-call API access, and transaction traces. The goal is simple: let an agent move money as naturally as it moves information, while keeping every action controlled and auditable.
The most interesting product challenge is that human checkout and agent commerce cannot be two disconnected systems. A seller should be able to publish one product and serve both a person clicking a link and an agent acting on a user's behalf. That means treating identity, authorization, pricing, tax, fulfillment, and audit trails as one infrastructure problem.
We're still early and would love feedback from other builders:
• Where does your global payment stack create the most operational work?
• Would you let an agent make purchases if you could set limits and inspect every transaction?
• Which API or software purchase should become pay-per-call first?
You can see what we're building at https://anyway.sh. Happy to compare notes with anyone working on AI agents, developer tools, payments, or SaaS monetization.
