Realtime API uptime and reliability monitoring
Today we've launched a new page on our website specifically targeting new users. The page is a playground to test your suites and is powered by our cloud.
This is mainly to help new users onboard faster and let them experiment without any setup needed on their part!
The new page can be found here !
Thanks!
Yesterday we decided it's time to do a soft launch of our free open source CLI to see what the engagement from the public will be. The secondary objective was to gather some signups for our still in progress cloud offering.
We chose two channels for this - reddit and hackernews - and submitted a total of 4 posts in different subreddits and one Show HN entry.
Now, a day later, the results are in and we're proud to announce we have hit our first major milestone of 10 subscribers (actually 12)!
Here are some more details on conversion from this campaign:
- 318 total visitors to our website.
- 13 people (4.09% of all visitors) went on the sign up page.
- 6 people (46.15% of people who visited the sign up page) subscribed to our list.
The overall email capture conversion is 1.89%, which we think is fair.
On top of that we also had activity in our github repository:
- 324 visitors
- 22 new stars or 6.79% of all visitors (up from 6)
- 2 new watchers (up from 2)
- 2 new forks (up from 0)
Overall we're extremely happy with the results and look forward to adding more features around helping new customers use our tool!
Over the past several weeks we've been undergoing through a redesign stage for our website. This was done purely to support the cloud offering we are building.
The redesign is now COMPLETE, you can visit our new and shiny web page on https://www.getapid.com/ .

Following a very detailed discussion around the feedback we got from our initial soft launch, we've decided to pivot our business plan and open source our free product - https://github.com/getapid/apid-cli .
Following this, we've decided to create a cloud offering which will work based on that product.
More information will come in the following months.

After months of hard work we've finally launched our CLI and docker image for the general public!
The initial marketing channel is reddit with multiple subreddits we posted the project in. Overall feedback was very positive which motivated us even more to keep pushing further.
The main concern was that the project was not open source, so we are entertaining the thought of open sourcing it in the near future.
Exciting times await for sure!
