Why I am building my project - Aplican
by Kevin HinhAfter graduating college, I invested all of my time hunting for a software developer job. I noticed a lot of friction during the application process, so I decided to create Aplican to lessen the friction.
The 3 main features I plan on creating includes a job application tracker (MVP is live), AI-powered message curator, CV letter builder/optimizer, and resume builder/optimizer (WIP), and the 3 feature is up for grabs right now.
I do not want to fall victim to building some too grand, however, I also plan on making Aplican a place for recruiters and hirers to come and find talent. It sounds reasonable in my head since people with talent are the ones who will be using the platform to apply for jobs. By creating a platform that streamlines the job application process and offers valuable tools to help applicants optimize their resumes and cover letters, Aplican can attract top talent and make the hiring process more efficient for recruiters and hirers.

Hi Kevin,
I've always thought.. it would be nice if Recruiters who skip a CV on viewing, if the system/process gives them a chance to provide anonymous feedback to candidates & gives them rating based on how well received the feedback was by the candidate.
It would help both sides. Candidates would get better pointers on what they might have but not highlighting (or don't have & need to work on) and Recruiters would get a confidence rating for Candidates to have a look at when approached.

You made an excellent point, applicants would have a far higher success rate if they were given a clue of what made a recruiter pass up on them. Totally a win-win situation on both sides with the rating system you suggested.
I think you just locked in the 3rd feature. Although will definitely need to do idea validation before it gets built out. I really appreciate your input. Thank you!
