So I was looking for a community to join for another project I'm working on and came across Indie Hackers. After lurking for s couple days and lending feedback to other entrepreneurs, I realised what a great community there is here.
The positivity here is great! Everyone tries to give real and constructive criticism and words of encouragement. I felt comfortable sharing Apollo (https://littleapollo.com/) with the group and as expected I got a lot of thoughtful feedback and making the app and landing page better.
Previously the landing page was used to supplement applications for funding as Apollo is a side project for now. The IH family has helped me realise that it can be used for validation and motivation as well.
Thank you Indie Hacker community.
So TEDx organized an event in my country (Trinidad and Tobago). The theme was Opportunity and we bought tickets for everyone in the office (just 8 of us) and were excited to go see the speakers.
Two weeks before the event, we were presented with an opportunity to have a booth at the event for our Robotics classes. We accepted of course, but we also asked if it was OK to demo Apollo there too. They said, "Go for it!"
We were super excited. The only problem was, Apollo was nowhere near ready for a demo. We only had mockups lol. We put everything else on ice and grinded for 2 weeks on making the app functional. We built the app in React and used expo (https://expo.io/) to deploy.
We were very happy to put that work in. Persons at the event were able to download and use the app. We got to see the public interact with the app and see stats come up.
Sometimes a tight deadline is all you need to get something done. This being a side project is a bit unfortunate but we are thankful for the team at TEDxPOS for giving us the opportunity.

We designed and developed a custom website for our app Apollo.
https://littleapollo.com/
The main purpose of the landing page is to quickly describe the app and give a feel for how simple it is to use. It should be vibrant and fun. The imagery and copy must go hand in hand to give this effect so it feels cohesive.
The website is to be used in conjunction with applications for funding. As, for now, it's a part-time project that isn't getting the attention it deserves.
