I've had the unique chance to both launch my own SaaS and work with fast-growing unicorn companies. In both experiences, I ran into the same challenge: customers wanted mobile features. They needed quick access to critical metrics and push notifications for important updates.

The problem? Building a mobile app for one or both major platforms was a huge time investment. In my startup, it just didn’t make sense to spend months on it. And at a bigger company, we had to hire a dedicated team to develop and maintain the app. The whole process took way too long.

I kept thinking, there has to be a better way for SaaS businesses to go mobile—but I couldn’t find one. So, I decided to build it myself.

And that’s how Appio was born.
