I built a Shopify app directory with 15,000+ apps because the App Store search is broken

Part of my job involves evaluating third-party apps, finding the right tool for a specific problem, understanding what's actually good versus what just has a lot of reviews from a launch spike two years ago.

The Shopify App Store is genuinely bad at this. Search is weak, categories are broad, and there's no independent layer that helps you compare options side by side within a niche. You end up on Reddit threads from 2022 asking "best review app?" and hoping the landscape hasn't changed.

So I built AppStacked.

AppStacked is an independent Shopify app directory covering 15,000+ apps, organised by category with filtering and comparison tools the App Store doesn't offer. It's built for merchants who need to make a quick, confident decision about which app to use and for developers who want to understand where the market is moving.
