Atlantis

Documents and diagrams as code. For teams.

June 7, 2020 Finished the first iteration of the backend

It took longer than I hoped but I now have a usable backend, and I'm starting to create my own content on the platform. I've published the code to GitLab with a permissive licence for open collaboration.

Next steps:

  1. Continue eating my own dogfood
  2. Lay the groundwork for a web interface
  3. Hire a developer for a prototype web interface
  4. Build the dev infrastructure
  5. Build the prod infrastructure
  6. Partner with a frontend developer
  7. Launch the MVP

March 19, 2020 Came up with the idea

I love Mermaid.js, a tool for Diagrams as Code, but their live editor does not provide management or collaboration features. So Atlantis was born.

The vision: a mashup between Mermaid.js, Lucidchart, and GitHub repository wikis.

The plan is to release Atlantis as an open-source product, with a freemium SAAS for individuals and teams. I am building this for myself, so I know that others like me will be interested in this service.
