Audit Engine Pro
Automating audit, reconciliation, and spreadsheet heavy work
Hey Indie Hackers! I’m vishnu, a Class 12 student. Over the last 1.5 to 2 months, I built Audit Engine Pro—a production-ready, air-gapped financial audit automation platform.
Here is the backstory of how I built it, the technical decisions I made, and why I’m putting it up for acquisition.
1. The Origin: Solving a Real-World Problem
My father spent years working in finance, and seeing the day-to-day operations opened my eyes to a huge problem in accounting and compliance: manual financial auditing is slow, expensive, and prone to human oversight.
Most internal audit teams and CPA firms rely on manual cross-referencing, bloated enterprise tools, and Excel spreadsheets to review General Ledgers and execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
I wanted to fix this. My goal wasn't just to script a minor helper tool—I wanted to build an automated engine that executes compliance checks deterministically, faster, and far more accurately than humanly possible.
2. The Build: 400+ Hours of High-Density Engineering
Balancing Class 12 schoolwork with full-stack development meant every hour had to count. Over 1.5–2 months, I logged 400+ engineering hours building the system from scratch to version v0.9.19.
Here is what went into the architecture:
Engine Core: Built using Python and Pandas to execute heavy financial data processing locally and offline-first (air-gapped for maximum security).
14 SOP Modules: Hardcoded automated audit checks covering GL review, balance sheet flux analysis, transaction sampling, and compliance verification.
Flux Engine: Automated variance and trend analysis designed to catch anomalies in real time.
141 Regression Tests: Built a comprehensive automated test suite to ensure 100% deterministic outputs and zero mathematical drift.
Web Console & Setup Installer: Built a web interface and local licensing architecture so non-technical auditors can install and run it without touchpoints.
3. The Realization & Next Steps
What started as an attempt to solve my father's operational pain points evolved into a complete, standalone B2B software asset.
Because I am currently focusing on my studies and upcoming exams, I don't have the bandwidth to run a full B2B sales cycle, do enterprise outreach, or handle long customer acquisition pipelines. The codebase is complete, fully tested, and ready to be commercialized as a B2B SaaS or enterprise internal tool.
I’ve valued the project at $16,000 USD, which strictly reflects the replacement cost of 400+ hours of full-stack R&D. It's built for a buyer, agency, or founder who wants a turnkey shortcut into the financial software space without spending 6 months in core development.
About
Audit Engine Pro was created to solve real operational bottlenecks observed firsthand through my father's work in finance, replacing manual auditing with automated precision. Over 400+ hours, it evolved significantly.
