I recently had a call with someone who expressed interest in being a "strategist" for my project, .Aurura, which was originally envisioned as a decentralized AI ecosystem. I went into the conversation prepared to learn about their perspective and see where they could contribute. Instead, I found myself being asked more questions than I was getting answers.

At first, I thought they were just trying to understand the project. As the conversation went on, I realized something important. A real strategic advisor should be offering insights, not just gathering information. If someone is only asking questions without contributing ideas or solutions, they may not actually be the right fit to help move things forward.

Takeaways from the experience:

✔ Define what you need before the conversation. Are you looking for advice, technical input, funding insights, or something else? Clarity helps you filter the right people.

✔ Pay attention to whether someone is offering solutions or just analyzing your project. A true contributor helps refine things, not just question them.

✔ Flip the script early. If you feel like you’re being evaluated instead of discussing collaboration, ask: "What do you see yourself bringing to this?"

A Lesson That Led to a Major Shift

This conversation made me rethink not just how I evaluate potential advisors but also how I evaluate my own project. .Aurura was originally built on the idea of decentralization and blockchain-based AI governance, but the more I worked through the details, the more I realized that decentralization, at least in the way I initially envisioned it, was creating more problems than it was solving.

I decided to revise the vision. .Aurura is no longer about decentralization for its own sake. Instead, it is focused on structured, ethical, and community-driven AI governance that ensures AI is transparent, accessible, and accountable without the inefficiencies of blockchain.

This means:

• A structured governance model instead of token-based voting that can be manipulated.

• Community-driven AI development with clear leadership and ethical oversight.

• Scalable infrastructure using modern cloud technologies instead of decentralized networks that create unnecessary complexity.

• Sustainable AI monetization that aligns with ethical AI usage instead of speculative tokenomics.

Moving Forward: Finding the Right People
