So I built AutoSubtitles - a browser-based tool that's actually free. No account required, no credit card "just in case," no surprise limitations. Upload your video, get AI-powered captions, and download. That's it.
The sustainability challenge
The hardest part isn't the tech - it's keeping unlimited AI transcription free without going broke. I'm currently optimizing costs and exploring sustainable models that don't involve charging users. Still figuring this out.
