AvocadoScore

Website audit for speed, SEO & AI readiness

July 17, 2026 Launched AvocadoScore — can ChatGPT, Perplexity & Google's AI Overviews actually read your site?

Speed and SEO each have a dozen tools. But there's a newer question almost nothing answers: when someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for "the best X," can those engines even crawl, parse, and cite your site?

I kept running that check by hand for people — robots.txt vs the AI crawlers, llms.txt, whether the CDN quietly blocks bots, schema validity, whether a page is server-rendered or an empty JS shell — so I turned it into one report.

What it is: AvocadoScore scans a site and grades three things in one place:

  • ⚡ Core Web Vitals — real PageSpeed data

  • 🔍 SEO fundamentals — a 12-point checklist

  • 🤖 AI readiness — 17 checks: answer-engine crawlers (OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Claude-User…), llms.txt, structured-data validity, crawl-as-a-bot, and more

$29 one-time. No login, no subscription. Free 3-page preview so you can see it before paying.

Why the AI part matters: AI Overviews and answer engines are becoming a real discovery channel, but most sites have never been checked against the specific crawlers that decide whether they show up. A surprising number are accidentally invisible — Cloudflare blocks AI bots by default, or the content only renders in JavaScript the crawlers don't execute.

Build-in-public bit: solo founder, built over ~7 weeks (first commit was late May). I dogfood it — avocadoscore.io scores 97/100 on its own AI readiness. Not 100, because I'd rather be honest about the two things I still haven't fixed.

Would love feedback from IH: scan your own site free (avocadoscore.io) and tell me if the AI-readiness section surprised you. And if you've been thinking about "getting cited by AI" — what would you want a tool like this to check that it doesn't yet?

Everyone's told to care about Core Web Vitals, SEO, and now "AI readiness" — but the tooling is scattered across a dozen tabs. Lighthouse checks speed, Ahrefs checks SEO, and almost nothing checks the thing that's quietl
